Two of the greatest artists of our time reunite for Beethoven’s dark and stormy Piano Concerto No. 3. Then, the clouds part, and MTT leads his New World Symphony in Schumann’s First Symphony, a joyful invocation of spring that 18-year-old Schumann described as a “summons to awakening.”

In his final performance at the Adrienne Arsht Center, MTT leads New World Symphony in Tchaikovsky’s monumental battle with Fate. The concert begins first with Agnegram, written by MTT as a love letter to a friend. Grammy-winning baritone Dashon Burton takes the stage for a series of folk songs reimagined by Aaron Copland, MTT’s mentor and the father of the American Sound.
