Moove, a global leader in innovative mobility solutions, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Waymo, the frontrunner in autonomous driving technology. This collaboration, marking the first commercial alliance within the Waymo One app, aims to revolutionize urban mobility.
Beginning in 2025, Moove will manage and dispatch Waymo’s fully autonomous fleet in Phoenix before expanding operations to Miami in 2026. The partnership entails Moove overseeing fleet operations, facilities, and charging infrastructure, ensuring that Waymo’s all-electric autonomous vehicle (AV) fleet runs smoothly. Meanwhile, Waymo will retain control over its autonomous technology, known as the Waymo Driver, and continue operating the service through its app.
Ryan McNamara, Vice President of Operations at Waymo, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the blend of Moove’s fleet management expertise with Waymo’s cutting-edge autonomous services. “Together, we will provide safe, seamless trips for riders while scaling more effectively,” he said, underlining the commitment to safety.
While venturing into the world of autonomous vehicles, Moove remains dedicated to its existing customer base in emerging markets. The company plans to continue offering its Drive-to-Own (DTO) product, which provides underserved mobility entrepreneurs with access to vehicle ownership.
The partnership arrives at a time when autonomous vehicles are poised to address significant challenges in traditional mobility systems, such as road safety and environmental sustainability. According to the World Health Organization, road traffic crashes account for approximately 1.19 million deaths annually, highlighting the urgent need for safer transportation solutions. By implementing shared AV technologies, Moove and Waymo aim to reduce urban congestion and promote sustainable city development.
Ladi Delano, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Moove, remarked, “Waymo is leading the way in autonomous technology, and together we’re driving a major shift in urban mobility.” He emphasized Moove’s commitment to providing unique financing solutions to mobility entrepreneurs worldwide, even as the company expands into the U.S. AV market.
Moove’s expansion into the United States is part of its broader strategy to create the world’s largest fleet powered by state-of-the-art technologies. The company’s growth has been supported by its global partnership with Uber and substantial investment from industry leaders, including Mubadala and BlackRock. With operations across 12 markets, Moove has positively impacted over 100,000 lives and completed more than 50 million trips in vehicles financed through its programs.
As Moove takes significant steps towards transforming mobility, it continues to champion safe, efficient, and accessible transportation. The partnership with Waymo promises to herald a new era of urban transport, especially in dynamic cities like Miami, setting the stage for a cleaner and more connected future.
