Mike Wallace Is Here offers an unflinching look at the legendary reporter who interrogated the 20th century’s biggest figures in his over fifty years on air, and his aggressive reporting and showmanship that redefined what America came to expect from broadcasters. Unearthing never-before-seen footage from the 60 Minutes vault, director Avi Belkin explores what drove and plagued Wallace, whose storied career was entwined with the evolution of journalism itself.
CBS4 award-winning investigative reporter and host of its Sunday public affairs program “Facing South Florida,” Jim DeFede will introduce the film on Opening Night at 7:30 pm and discuss with the audience, following the screening, a profession — investigative journalism — that becomes more relevant with each passing day.
