MIGUEL PAREDES

Pop and multi-media artist, sculptor and urban realist, Miguel Paredes, held a series of exclusive events (4 to be exact) during Art Basel Miami Beach 2010 at three separate locations — two on Miami Beach and one on Wynwood — making him a driving force in the festivities.

Paredes kicked off the week with one of the most buzzed about events on Wednesday, December 1: the opening reception celebrating his Artist-in-Residency at National Hotel Miami Beach-turned-Miguel Paredes National Hotel, which attracted more than 2700 guests who enjoyed beats by Buddha Bar beat master DJ Sam Popat and cocktails by Bombay Sapphire.

The following evening, Paredes hosted an intimate viewing with famed rock-photographer Danny Clinch debuting the duo’s collaborative work featuring musician Jack Johnson.

On Friday and Saturday evening, Paredes was the hit of Wynwood at Paredes Fine Arts Studio, during which time he opened his doors to more than 3,000 visitors, again with beats by DJ Sam Popat, complimentary cocktails and bites by RA Sushi South Miami.

With strong sales of original works, limited edition prints as well as merchandise to both his loyal collectors as well as new and visiting art enthusiasts, Paredes had an extremely successful run.
