Miami to Host the 2011 South Florida Fight and Fitness Expo

Elite Promotions announces the first of its kind, the 2011 South Florida Fight Expo Health and Fitness Extravaganza. This action packed weekend will host Live MMA Fights, Live Boxing Fights, a Grappling tournament, Seminars, Restaurants and much more.

While most of the United States is snowed in and freezing this coming February, something big will be happening in sunny Miami Florida. Elite Promotions, a Florida State licensed Promoter will be hosting the largest event to ever happen in the Fight world. The 2011 South Florida Fight and Fitness Expo will be showcasing all that is significant in the MMA and Boxing world. The expo will also be focusing on the Health and Fitness industry as a whole.

“There is typically a divide between the Boxing world, and the Mixed Martial Arts world” said Jeff Gibson, CEO of Elite Promotions. “Not only should the sports coexist, they have the ability to help the other grow and prosper. Each ‘combat sport’ has a loyal following, and we want to include everyone in this event.”

The event will host an Expo with over 120 exhibitors ranging from clothing lines, equipment companies, nutrition companies, health centers, MMA gyms, Boxing gyms, health clubs, and medical professionals. In addition, and this is where this Expo sets itself apart from other Expos throughout North America, are the Fights. There will be an Amateur MMA Fight on Friday night, there will also be an Amateur Boxing Fight on Saturday afternoon, with the Main Event being Satuday evening. The Main event is a hybrid Fight card hosting 7 MMA fights, and 7 Boxing fights. Wow. There will be over 40 Fights in total over the 2 days, now thats amazing

Dave Zalewski, a partner in the Expo who is also owner of Title Shot Management, an MMA Fighter management company, says that there is even more to that. “Not only will there be over a hundred vendors relating to the Fight, Health, and Fitness industries, and 3 seperate Fights taking place under one roof, we also have a few other activities up our sleeve. We will have a Grappling tournament Saturday morning hosted by Renato Tavares of American Top Team, we will have a Ms. Fitness contest for the fans enjoyment, we will have over 20 of Miami’s top restaurants for our guests to enjoy, we will have a private VIP room for table and ringside guests, and we will cap it all off with an after party and live music for all guests who want to stay until the early hours of the morning.”

As you can tell these guys are looking to make a big splash in the Fight world. It’s sounds hard to believe that all of this can happen within one weekend at one event, but if anyone can pull this off it is Jeff Gibson and Elite Promotions. Elite Promotions (ElitePromotions.info) is not a company that just popped up due to the popularity of Mixed Martial Arts, it has been a fixture in Florida for almost a decade. From major televised boxing events, to the largest MMA fights in the state, to the newly legal Amateur MMA fights, Elite has done them all.

“We want to show the MMA and Boxing world that Florida is where it’s at. We have some of the top talent in the business coming out of Florida, and South Florida in particular. Just look at the UFC. A bunch of those guys fought for me on my shows over the years. I take pride seeing some of the kids who I helped get their start by putting on my fight cards over the last 10 years, fighting either in the UFC, Strikeforce, Bellator, and the boxers fighting for WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF titles. I’m proud to watch those kids on TV now, becoming champions, and making the big bucks.” Jeff Gibson says like a proud father.

If you’re in the MMA, Boxing, Health, or Fitness industry, this sounds like a must. It will be a great chance to rub shoulders with a who’s who in the business and watch some great fights all at once. The celebrity list is growing from big name fighters to big name actors. There is really something for everybody.

“Born and raised in Chicago, I know that people are desperate to get the heck out of town when February temperatures are around 0 degrees.” Zalewski said. “We plan to give them an excuse to head to Miami, whether it’s for the Fights, for the Expo, for the Grappling, or just for the sun and beach. Come on down, check out the Expo, mingle with the locals, watch the fights, buy some stuff from vendors, and support our industry.”

The event will be televised on La Ley Sports, live streamed on the internet, and plans to host over 20,000 people when all is said and done. Their advertising campaign should insure that happens, you will see ads everywhere soon.

If you’re from Florida, come support your local fighters, vendors and promoters. If you’re coming in from out of town, start bragging to your friends now, and don’t forget your swimsuits and flip flops.
