BeMe Health, a pioneering digital behavioral health platform focused on the mental well-being of teens and young adults, has announced the appointment of NBA rookie Keshad Johnson of the Miami Heat as its first-ever brand ambassador. This partnership marks a significant milestone for BeMe, which was founded in 2021 to aid youth in managing stress and anxiety through innovative digital solutions.
BeMe Health harnesses the power of mobile technology to transform young people’s screen time into opportunities for personal growth and mental health support. Developed by clinicians and refined with the help of a Teen Advisory Board comprised of nearly 200 members, BeMe provides a unique blend of digital media, real human support through trained professional coaches, and clinical resources accessible via in-app messaging.
Keshad Johnson, a talented basketball player from Oakland, California, has quickly made a name for himself on the court. His journey began at San Diego State University, where he was instrumental in leading the Aztecs to the NCAA Championship game in 2023. Following his standout season, Johnson transferred to the University of Arizona, further showcasing his versatility and strategic play. After signing a Two-Way Contract with the Miami Heat in July 2024, he excelled with the team’s G League affiliate, averaging 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game, culminating in his official signing with the Heat in December.
Johnson’s commitment to mental health advocacy is deeply personal. At the tender age of 10, he faced a life-altering moment when his older brother, Kenny, a promising basketball player, survived a traumatic shooting that left him paralyzed. This pivotal experience instilled in Keshad a profound resilience and determination to support his family, ultimately inspiring him to pursue a career in basketball.
As BeMe’s brand ambassador, Johnson will actively engage with the community in Miami, attending events and promoting the platform’s mental health resources beginning this month.
“My journey motivates me to support and inspire young people to get the support they need to persevere against all odds,” Johnson stated. “That’s why I’m honored to be part of the BeMe family and excited to share all the ways it can help young people’s mental well-being with my community.”
Dr. Nicoletta Tessler, CEO and Co-Founder of BeMe Health, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership. “BeMe is truly privileged to have Keshad serve as a brand ambassador. His talent as an athlete is matched only by his authenticity, remarkable character, and passion for helping others. I can’t think of a better role model for the young people that BeMe serves.”
