Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders

As part of the Miami Dolphins efforts to recognize the many contributions of our service men and women from the armed forces, members of the organization including Jeanette Sparano, Davone Bess, Nolan Carroll, Vontae Davis and other current and alumni players along with Dolphins cheerleaders will visit the USS Jason Dunham (Aegis Guided Missile Destroyer). The service men and women on board will be treated to a special cheerleader performance and then give the group a tour of the warship.

Marine Corporal Jason Dunham, 22, threw himself on a live grenade in April 2004 during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Karabilah, Iraq. He sustained massive injuries and died eight days later. As a result of his selfless and heroic act, which saved the lives of a least two fellow Marines, Corporal Dunham was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor in 2006. He was the first Marine to receive the Medal of Honor in the Iraq War.
