The Miami Dolphins hosted more than 80 local high school students throughout South Florida for the inaugural Community Service Academy this past week.
The Community Service Academy was created to give high schools students the opportunity to achieve service hours to help bolster their college applications while making an impact in the community under a structured volunteer program.
The students rotated daily at different service projects at the Flamingo Gardens, Chapman Partnerships, Oleta River State Park, His House Children’s Home, Health in the Hood, Alexander Nininger State Veterans Nursing Home, Zoo Miami and Feeding South Florida. After each event, the most impactful volunteer received a “game ball” as recognition of his or her exceptional work.
