Miami Dolphins Host Fins and Kids Back to School Kickoff

Miami Dolphins players, cheerleaders handed out approximately 120 backpacks and school supplies to students from various Dade (Carrie Meek/Westview K8 Center and Leisure City K-8 Center) and Broward (Bennett and North Folk) Elementary Schools. Elevation Burger also donated food for the kids at the event.

The afternoon’s festivities began with a dance contest that was emceed by Jake Long and judged by the players at the team’s indoor practice facility.  After the dance contest, participants received backpacks filled with different materials from the Miami Dolphins to assist them in the upcoming school year.

Members of the Miami Dolphins cheerleading squad, Jeannette Sparano and a host of players including Ryan Baker, John Denney, Brandon Fields and Brian Hartline took part in this afternoon’s event.

“It’s definitely important and the kids always enjoy us,” Long said. “School’s such an important thing and it’s always good to support the schools and the kids. Every time we have one of these kids it’s great to see the enjoyment on the kids’ faces when they get the backpacks and the school stuff they need.”
