Miami Dolphins DT Christian Wilkins and Dolphins Challenge Cancer Hosts Halloween Shopping Event for 35 Kids at Spirit Halloween

Miami Dolphins DT Christian Wilkins, joined by teammates DT Josiah Bronson, S Jevon Holland, DE Emmanuel Ogbah, LB Elandon Roberts and DE Zach Sieler collaborated with the Dolphins Challenge Cancer (DCC) to host a Halloween shopping event for more than 35 South Florida children at Spirit Halloween in Cooper City, FL, on Tuesday, Oct. 25.

Participants were selected by DCC community partners Break the Cycle, an urban cycling group committed to impacting the community, and Alex’s Place, the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center’s pediatric hematology-oncology clinic, and ranged from ages 10 – 16 years old. They had the opportunity to engage with Dolphins players as they explored the store and selected Halloween costumes which were purchased by Wilkins.

The children also received goodie bags from the Dolphins and prepared meals from Miami Dolphins minority-owned restaurant partner Nola Bites.

This initiative is in continuation of the Dolphins Challenge Cancer’s year-round efforts towards supporting the lives of those impacted by cancer at Sylvester.

The Dolphins Challenge Cancer (DCC) was founded in 2010 by the Miami Dolphins organization as the signature initiative of the Foundation’s health impact area and has become the largest fundraising event in the NFL. The DCC’s purpose is to improve people’s lives through financial support for innovative cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
