On Monday, February 19th, the Miami Design District (MDD) transformed into a sensational symphony of sound. At the center of the spectacle was The Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO), proclaimed the Official Symphony Orchestra of the City of Miami, under the direction of Maestro Eduardo Marturet, making a triumphant return to the heart of the neighborhood for an unforgettable and extraordinary community open-air concert.
The evening kicked off with an electrifying performance headlined by iconic reggae legends, The Wailers. NE 40th Street was temporarily closed off to accommodate the grand celebration, which boasted a lineup of exceptional talent. Alongside The Wailers, the concert featured captivating performances by the versatile Carlos Camilo, showcasing his talents as an artist, pianist, and singer. Additionally, the beautiful sounds of “Romantico” by American composer Karen LeFrak were brought to life by Venezuelan Classical Guitarist Luis Quintero. Country Singer and Songwriter Eric Lee delivered a captivating performance, and Ana Villafañe impressed the audience with outstanding renditions of “Buenos Aires” and “Mi Buen Amor” by Gloria Estefan.
The concert was produced in collaboration with famed musician and producer Emilio Estefan, and conducted by Maestro Eduardo Marturet who’s direction added a symphonic dimension to the evening, creating a fusion of musical genres that resonated deeply with the audience. The concert left an indelible mark on MDD, as the neighborhood solidifies its role as a cultural hub that fosters community engagement.
