MIAMI DESIGN DISTRICT DEBUTS LIVING THE DREAM BY ALTERONCE GUMBY
New York-based artist Alteronce Gumby will unveil Living the Dream – a new and permanent public art installation debuting in the Miami Design District this December. This marks Gumby’s first outdoor public mural and largest work to date. The site-specific mural will transform the space with a dynamic fusion of stained glass, gemstones, fossils, and mosaic tiles. Inspired by the bold colors of Fauvism, Gumby’s mural will incorporate materials like jade, turquoise, red jasper, and fossilized shark teeth. This piece continues Gumby’s exploration of color and cosmic themes, reflecting elements from his earlier works like Vertigo Colors, and is influenced by The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Vertigo of Color exhibition.
Location: Jade Alley, 176 NE 41st St, Miami, FL 33137
