Miami-Dade County Celebrates its Film and Entertainment Industry Luminaries at Annual Industry Night Reception

On May 17th, the Miami-Dade County Office of Film & Entertainment hosted its highly-anticipated annual Industry Night Reception at Faena Theater. This year, over 200 of the film and entertainment industry’s top luminaries and visionaries attended the event to hear exciting new initiatives from Miami-Dade County and its mission for the future of the local film industry.

The evening kicked off with Enrique Santos, president of iHeart Latino, serving as the event host. The distinguished list of speakers included Miami-Dade County Commissioner Senator Rene Garcia, Faena Theater’s Executive Producer Brian Forti, Greater Miami Convention Visitors Bureau’s COO Rolando Aedo, Miami-Dade College President Madeline Pumariega, and a video message from Producer/Actor Emilio Estefan.

However, the highlight of the night was when Mayor Daniella Levine Cava honored Producer/Director Michael Bay with a proclamation from Miami-Dade County proclaiming that May 17th is Michael Bay Day. Bay is an iconic figure in the world of film and has directed blockbuster hits like “Transformers,” “Pearl Harbor,” and “Armageddon.”

The Industry Night Reception stands as a testament to the unwavering spirit of Miami’s vibrant entertainment community. It serves as a reminder that, in the realm of entertainment, dreams can be realized, and magic can be found right here in Miami-Dade County.
