Miami-Dade County Animal Services to host Puppy Bowl XVI watch party featuring Miami’s elite puppy athletes

Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department (Animal Services) invites pet lovers and potential pet adopters for a TAILgate party to cheer on five puppies from the Miami shelter that will be featured in Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl XIX. The celebration will take place on Sunday, February 12, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Pet Adoption and Protection Center located at 3599 NW 79 Avenue in Doral.

Fans can visit the shelter and watch Animal Services pups Bo, Bandit, Kira, Munchkin and Rascal compete in Puppy Bowl XIX. The TAILgate party will even feature some celebrity appearances – Munchkin, Bandit and Rascal will be in attendance, ready to meet their fans. After participating in the national competition, all the star athletes found their loving forever families, but more than 500 of their shelter mates are still waiting and available for adoption.

Puppy Bowl isn’t just about watching pups take part in the cutest competition in sports history—its goal is to raise awareness about the thousands of shelter pets waiting to find loving forever homes. Puppies and adult dogs will be available for adoption, and adoption fees will be waived for pets 4 months and older. Adopters are responsible for the $30 dog licensing fee. Fees will be $85 for puppies and $35 for kittens. All pet adoptions include the first set of age-appropriate vaccines, microchip, deworming and spay/neuter surgery.
