Miami City Ballet’s Open Barre Dance Series, which will present Twyla Tharp,’s “The Golden Section” and Paul Taylor’s Company B, Friday, November 5 at 7pm and Saturday, November 5 at 2:30pm and 7pm.
Get up close and personal with Miami City Ballet dancers in their 200 seat intimate studio theater when the Open Barre Dance Series opens its season with two exciting works: Twyla Tharp’s “The Golden Section” and Paul Taylor’s Company B. These exclusive, one-of-a-kind performances are presented three times only: Friday, November 5 at 7p.m. and Saturday, November 6 at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Twyla Tharp’s “The Golden Section” is set to music by David Byrne (of the Talking Heads) and emanates pure energy as thirteen dancers in gold costumes sail, soar and tear through the air of glowing light. Paul Taylor’s Company B is a modern dance work set to the recordings of the 1940s group The Andrews Sisters. The piece features such recognizable tunes as “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” and “Rum and Coca-Cola.”
Miami City Ballet is now celebrating its 25th Anniversary Season. The company performs in the Tri-County South Florida area: in Miami-Dade at the Adrienne Arsht Center, in Broward at Broward Center and in Palm Beach at Kravis Center.
