MIAMI CHILDREN’S MUSEUM RAISES MORE THAN $65,000

MIAMI CHILDREN’S MUSEUMOn Saturday, October 24th, ghouls, ghosts and goblins frolicked with more than 700 costumed attendees as Miami Children’s Museum (MCM) hosted its first ever “Not So Scary Halloween.” Chairperson Marlen Pernetti and her committee planned a fun day for the whole family to enjoy the festivities. All this and a silent auction helped successfully raise more than $65,000 benefiting the MCM’s scholarship programs!

All the young costumed invaders from Spiderman to the Little Princess had a boo-tiful time as they trick or treated their way around the Museum’s 14 galleries, braved the haunted house, tested their knowledge in the mad scientist lab or created crazed crafts.  Families had a bewitching time decorating pumpkins donated by Robert Netkin and cookies donated by Dixie Crystals.  There was also face painting, balloon artists, scary movies, scary music by Rhythm City Productions, MAC Cosmetics makeovers for all the Moms, silent auction, a costume parade and much, much more. Food was sponsored by Epicure Markets with desserts and snacks from The Cookie Bandit, vitaminwater, Coca-Cola, Pirate Booty, Blue Bell Ice Cream and POPChips.  Other in-kind sponsors included: NUPRESS, Miami Science Museum, Paragon Theaters, Premier Tenting and American Airlines Arena.
