FEBRUARY 2022 CALENDAR OF EVENTS

All Month Long

This month we are remembering and celebrating the contributions of African Americans both past and present and the impact they’ve had on our country. Learn about Black inventors who have changed the world and create your own invention, visit our Art Studio to design colorful collages inspired by the empowering portraits of Bisa Butler, and explore the history of Gee’s Bend while crafting your own quilt. Visit Museum at Home or our social media channels (YouTubeInstagramFacebookTwitter) to view videos, released weekly, that will entertain and educate your little ones with stories, music, art projects, books, special guests and more.

Sensory Friendly Saturday

Saturday, February 12 | 10AM–12PM

On the second Saturday of every month, Miami Children’s Museum offers a sensory friendly experience for children with disabilities and their families. We’re welcoming back The Fellows at New World Symphony as they help us celebrate Black History Month by performing music from the Harlem Renaissance. Enjoy a sensory friendly story time, art project, and as always explore the Museum in a sensory modified, supportive setting with limited admission and sound and lighting adjustments. Our goal is to provide your child with the opportunity to engage in social interactions, improve their sensory processing, and to optimize their understanding of and participation in natural environments.
