OCTOBER 2020 CALENDAR OF EVENTS
MiChiMu’s Halloween
Join us virtually all month long as we celebrate Halloween! Get hands-on with a variety of STEM activities. Try some gaspingly fun games, creepy cooking, scary storytelling, and eerie art projects to entertain you throughout the month. Then on Saturday, October 31st, drive by the Museum from 11 am – 1 pm for a contactless Trick-or-Treat Drive-Thru thanks to our friends from Florida Dairy Farmers and Caleb and Calder Sloan’s Awesome Foundation. We’ll have pre-packaged trick-or-treat bags with wrapped candies and other goodies, fresh chocolate milk from Florida Dairy Farmers, and other surprises!

A Spooky Sensory Friendly Saturday
Saturday, October 10th
Join our virtual Sensory Friendly Saturday. This month, we’ll be celebrating Halloween with an emphasis on shadows and light. Light play can help in decreasing arousal levels, increasing self-regulation, and improving attention and focus. Learn how to create your own light box at home, enjoy a shadow puppet show of Ten Timid Ghosts, and use shadows to create a mural. Even at home, our goal is to provide your child with the opportunity to engage in social interactions and improve their processing and regulation of sensory input to optimize their understanding of and participation in natural environments. Virtual Free Third Friday Presented by Baptist Health South Florida

Thanks to the support of Baptist Health South Florida, every third Friday of each month we will be streaming live art projects, science demonstrations, dance parties, theater performances, and a special workshop with Baptist Health through our Facebook to keep you connected with us while we’re closed. Mini Monday Story Time – Every Monday at 11AM, join our Theater Troupe for an interactive, virtual story time with our favorite children’s books geared for ages 0-5 years old.

October 19th – Heel 2 Heal joins with their costumed therapy dogs again for a Halloween-themed story time! Feel free to have your pets or stuffed animal friends join in costume as well!
Member Masterpieces – Join our Studio Artist virtually every Friday at 4PM for fun and engaging art projects.

Spooky Songs Performance with New World Symphony
Wednesday, October 28th

Join us on zoom for a special interactive music session with the Fellows from New World Symphony. They’ll be playing some spooky songs to get us into the Halloween spirit! Check your email for a special activity to create your own instruments at home so that you can play along!
