This December, Miami Beach transforms into a wonderland of music and lights as the beloved Holiday Festival of Lights returns, captivating audiences from December 13 to 22. Hosted at The Betsy Hotel along South Beach’s iconic Ocean Drive, this enchanting event promises a vibrant display of synchronized musical performances and stunning light shows that will dazzle visitors of all ages.
Presented by the Miami Beach Classical Music Festival (MMF), the festival is a celebration of artistic creativity and holiday spirit, featuring live orchestral performances enhanced by cutting-edge projection mapping technology. Attendees will witness the historic Betsy Hotel become an interactive canvas, where every corner bursts with vibrant imagery, perfectly choreographed to the rhythm of the music.
Over two weekends, families can gather for three nightly performances at 6, 7:30, and 9 p.m., showcasing beloved holiday characters like Santa Claus, the Grinch, and Elsa, along with magical snow flurries for children to enjoy. Highlights include a special drone show on December 14, adding to the spectacle on the beach.
Michael Rossi, founder and artistic director of MMF, expressed excitement about bringing this magical experience back to South Beach, aiming to create lasting memories through their innovative blend of world-class artistry and immersive visuals. “Our goal is to create unforgettable moments for families, locals, and visitors alike,” he said.
With the support of the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority and the City of Miami Beach, the festival not only enhances the local culture but also celebrates international holiday traditions, reinforcing Miami Beach’s status as a premier destination for arts and culture.
Jonathan Plutzik, co-owner of The Betsy Hotel, echoed this sentiment, noting the festival’s growing reputation as a benchmark for cultural celebrations worldwide. As the first organization in South Florida to incorporate immersive symphony and opera experiences, MMF continues to push the boundaries of live performance, ensuring the Miami Beach Holiday Festival of Lights is an event not to be missed this holiday season.
