During Miami Art Week, Hublot showcased the latest iteration of its renowned Big Bang Tourbillon Carbon SR_A, a stunning collaboration with artist and designer Samuel Ross. Known for his innovative aesthetic and mastery of materials, Ross’s new timepiece embodies the brand’s philosophy of “Art of Fusion,” seamlessly blending technical prowess with a bold artistic vision.
Samuel Ross, founder of the acclaimed fashion label A-Cold-Wall and the atelier SR_A, has garnered international acclaim for his distinctive approach to design since launching his brands in 2015 and 2019, respectively. With each piece, Ross challenges conventional expectations in luxury and fashion, weaving a narrative that resonates with a global audience. His expressions of color and geometry are prominent in this latest watch, which is a continuation of his partnership with Hublot that began with the groundbreaking REFORM sculpture unveiled in 2020.
The new Big Bang Tourbillon Carbon SR_A features a striking blue chromatic palette and innovative materials. Its 44 mm case retains the iconic design elements of previous models while introducing a refined grey finish with a honeycomb pattern, echoed in the perforated rubber strap. The watch is powered by the Manufacture calibre HUB6035, incorporating a sophisticated skeleton tourbillon and boasting a power reserve of 72 hours.
Limited to just 50 pieces, the timepiece comes housed in a specially designed collector’s box, making it a coveted item for enthusiasts and collectors alike. Ross expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “We aim to surprise with original details and playful colors, creating a design that speaks a universal language that is both elegant and simple to understand.”
Hublot, founded in 1980, is renowned for its pioneering spirit and commitment to innovation in haute horlogerie. The brand has consistently pushed the boundaries of watchmaking, merging traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. This ethos was epitomized in the launch of the original Big Bang in 2005, which showcased Hublot’s unparalleled expertise in complications and advanced materials.
As part of its broader commitment to culture and the arts, Hublot’s collaboration with Samuel Ross reflects the brand’s dedication to fostering creativity through strategic partnerships. With an extensive portfolio of collaborations that span sports, music, and environmental initiatives, Hublot continues to define its identity as a leader in luxury timepieces.
