MIA Music Week: Armin Van Burrren, Cheat Codes, Alok at Eden Roc Miami Beach for EDMA Awards

Eden Roc Miami Beach, the official hotel of Miami Music Week, was at the center of the action, hosting the Electronic Dance Music Awards (EDMAs), the Winter Music Conference and the and the Official WMC Industry Party.

Throughout the week, Eden Roc Miami Beach hosted top names from the EDM community, including Armin Van Buuren, Alok, Cheat Codes and more.

The home of music icons since 1955, Eden Roc has a rich and storied history of hosting some of the most celebrated names in music. When the hotel opened with the launch of nightclub “Café Pompeii”, (today’s Pompeii Ballroom) it was the place to see and be seen and attracting Hollywood’s biggest stars. Many of the stars both stage and screen (Elizabeth Taylor, Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz, Mickey Hargitay, Jayne Mansfield, Marlene Dietrich, Don Rickles, Gypsy Rose Lee) would also stay and play as frequent guests at the hotel.

Legendary musical performers include: Frank Sinatra, Harry Belafonte, Tony Bennett, Cab Calloway (the first African-America musician to sell one million copies of a record), Paul Anka, Jerry Lewis, Johnny Mathis, Sammy Davis, Jr., Barbara Streisand, Lena Horne, Sergio Franchi and Nat King Cole, who famously sang his song “Mona Lisa” live for the first time at Eden Roc, in today’s now “Mona Lisa Ballroom”, which went on to win the Academy Award for best original song in 1950.
