Attendees will leave the theater singing “Feliz Navidad” after attending red carpet event, screening and Q&A with film’s directors and Executive Producer Rudy Perez, Billboard’s 2010 “Producer of the Decade”

WHO/WHAT:
Did you grow up singing “Feliz Navidad” or did your Spanish teacher drill the lyrics for this festive song into your head? Now, you can learn all about the talented, yet underrated artist behind this classic during a special Miami premiere event hosted by MDC’s Tower Theater Miami this coming Saturday night.
MDC’s Tower Theater Miami will exclusively feature a special one-week presentation of the documentary, JOSE FELICIANO: BEHIND THIS GUITAR, and is inviting the public to attend a spectacular red carpet event, screening and Q&A, featuring filmmakers Helen Murphy and Frank Licari, along with the film’s Executive Producer Rudy Perez, named Billboard’s 2010 “Producer of the Decade”, with over 300 #1 hits to his name, 19 Latin Grammy Nominations and five Latin Grammy wins. Gloria and Emilio Estefan also helped produce this film.
From the slums of Puerto Rico to the world stage, José Feliciano embarks upon a 55+ year career and becomes a nine-time Grammy winner, the first-ever Latin crossover artist, the first to stylize the national anthem, and one of the most under-appreciated singer/guitarists of all time. Known for his hit song “Feliz Navidad,” his Grammy-winning rendition of “Light My Fire,” and the theme song to Chico and the Man, his global musical significance is undisputed.
