While the song was deeply personal and written about the moment Ricky met his wife, the duo looked to the video to bring comedic relief and humor by parodying the typical Miami stereotypes. The track has been making waves on the internet over the past week, garnering over 15M impressions across TikTok and Instagram videos alone, showcasing the beauty of the track HERE and HERE, as well as reactions to the jaw dropping video from their parents, Ricardo and Marlene Montaner HERE, and friends J Balvin, Camilo, Manuel & Julian Turizo and Lola Indigo HERE.
“‘Miami’ is a song that talks about when you meet someone you feel you’ve been waiting for your whole life. When you realize that your life, before that person, had no meaning because all the meaning was to find her. It’s really a very personal song and for that reason, we wanted to show a more casual approach in the music video parodying, in a nice way, the frivolous image that people often have of this city,” said Mau & Ricky.
At the end of last year, “Los Montaner” premiered via Disney+, becoming the second most watched show worldwide on the platform since its premiere. The reality show further strengthenms the undeniable charisma of the two brothers, who show their most personal moments alongside their family. Through the series, you experience first-hand the love story that is later reflected in the lyrics of “Miami.”
