Math Monkey Knowledge Center has moved to a new expanded location at 12659 South Dixie Highway in the Pinecrest Town Center. In celebration, a special open house will be held on Saturday, June 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring activities and prizes.
Nelson Dellis, a Gulliver and University of Miami graduate, is a USA Memory Champion who has been featured in diverse national media outlets, including the New Yorker, CBS News, ABC News, NBC and Univision, after breaking the USA record for remembering the first 178 digits of a randomly generated 500-digit number, with just five minutes to study the numbers. Dellis will be demonstrating and teaching kids and their parents fun memory techniques throughout the event.
Math Monkey teachers will also be showing children and parents cool mental math techniques, which will amaze everyone. Blink, the Math Monkey mascot, will join the festivities throughout the day. The first 50 kids will receive a free Math Monkey backpack. Families will be able to enjoy refreshments and snacks, learn more about Math Monkey and enter a raffle that includes certificates from local businesses and a $150 certificate from Math Monkey that may be used for the summer and regular sessions.
Summer program registration is now open and features eight week-long half day Math Safari Camps from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, for kids entering 3rd through 6th grade and one hour Math Enrichment classes from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. for students going into Kindergarten through 7th grade. In-house and remote tutoring services are also available during the summer.
Math Monkey of Pinecrest is a math enrichment program for elementary and middle school age kids, teaching powerful techniques not normally taught in schools that will enable them to perform math mentally with great speed and accuracy. Math Monkey also offers math homework help services and remote one on one tutoring in all subjects for elementary, middle, high school and college levels.
