Make a Difference By Becoming a Volunteer Ombudsman for Seniors

The Florida Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is a volunteer-based initiative dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living in long-term care programs such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities and adult family care homes throughout the state.

The program is currently seeking volunteers in Miami-Dade County to work with staff to identify, investigate and resolve complaints made by or on behalf of residents. Additionally, volunteers monitor and comment on the development and implementation of federal, state and local laws, regulations and policies regarding the health, safety and welfare of residents in long-term care facilities.
