On January 27-29, 2012 Fundación MIR will hold its “Magical Splendor for Life” charity weekend in all its grandeur to celebrate 21 years of the organization’s success with devoted supporters. During the exciting weekend, guests will have the opportunity to preview exclusive Spring and Summer designs by Badgley Mischka, as well as gorgeous pieces by Tiffany & Co. As every year, Fundación MIR Founder and President, Mrs. Lian Fanjul de Azqueta, and Executive Director, Lyanne Azqueta, will serve as the hosts for the annual weekend to raise incremental funds for their continued MIR Project initiatives benefiting the Eastern region of the Dominican Republic.
In an exciting turn of events, this year’s gala will kick off the fun filled weekend of activities in the picturesque location of Playa Minitas for the much anticipated fashion show by Badgley Mischka and the always thrilling fundraising activity, “Tiffany & Co. Mystery Blue Box” Wall. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase a mystery Blue Box at a set price with a surprise Tiffany gift inside. The pieces will range from strikingly gorgeous Tiffany watches, to bold pieces designed by Paloma Picasso, Elsa Peretti, and Frank Gehry all for Tiffany & Co. All proceeds from the night’s fundraising activity will benefit Fundación MIR. This year’s celebration will be emceed by none other than former Ms. Universe and popular actress, Dayanara Torres. As invitees dine with a gorgeous backdrop overlooking the Caribbean waters, they will get the opportunity to taste the scrumptious creations by the Chefs of Le Cirque restaurant.
Badgley Mishcka, will be featuring a stunning fashion show with designs from their Spring – Summer 2012 Collection. During the always exciting event, Los Hermanos Rosario will bring guests to their feet as they dance into the wee hours of the night. The musical stylings of Miami’s own Dj Gringo will follow suit to keep the spirit of the night alive and lead the way to the enjoyable After Party.
On Saturday morning, guests will have the option to partake in a charitable golf tournament at La Romana Country Club. Winners of the day’s events will be presented with stunning Tiffany & Co. awards in the evening. As the weekend culminates, an exclusive VIP reception will take place on Saturday evening at the stunning location of Casa Grande for select guests with premium access and participation in all of the events throughout the weekend. The night will begin with a superb cocktail hour sponsored by Ron Atlántico. After the enticing cocktails, the attendees will be led to an exquisitely decorated tented area for a delicious dinner.
