The Love Shack at Thompson Miami Beach
Who says romance is dead? On February 13, The Wolfsonian–FIU is partnering with Thompson Miami Beach, The New Tropic, and WhoNow for a Valentine’s Day-themed mashup of old-school and new-school courtship, presented at the pop-up Love Shack at Thompson Miami Beach. Set in the hotel’s 1930s House, a dreamy cocktail bungalow, this free event juxtaposes dating past and present with interactive experiences to spark conversation, curiosity, and (hopefully!) more than a few love connections. Singles, couples, and everyone in between are invited to get their swoon on over cocktails and music through festivities including:
· Engaging the senses, flexing creativity, and interacting with history in The Wolfsonian’s “Feel Me Up, Turn Me On” hands-on activity featuring eclectic collection objects;
· Puckering up with your mate in the kissing photo booth;
· Unleashing your inner child in competitive backyard games; and
· Playing with WhoNow’s love life organizing app and participating in #loveshack social media games for special perks and prizes—a museum membership, an overnight stay at Thompson Miami Beach, and more.
