Loren Ridinger to speak at University of Miami ‘Launch Pad’ about brand building

Loren Ridinger, Senior Vice President of internet retailing giants marketamerica.com and shop.com and creator of Motives Cosmetics, Cellular Laboratories, Fixx product solution and author of Lorensworld.com and myfashioncents.com, will visit the University of Miami Launch Pad on Monday, April 4th to inspire hopeful fashion entrepreneurs and lend her advice as a successful business woman. An internet mogul and serial entrepreneur, Loren has been changing the face of the beauty and shopping industries for many years. Among Loren’s many brands and ventures, her exquisite jewelry collection, Loren Jewels®, can be seen worn by celebrities like Eva Longoria and Kim Kardashian.

Loren’s impeccable style has established her as one of today’s leading trendsetters. She has been named to Vogue’s Top 100 most influential women, selected by Haute Living as one of New York’s and Miami’s most influential residents, honored with the 2009 Women of Substance and Style award and named Top 50 Entrepreneur by Business Leader magazine.

“As aspiring entrepreneurs we get frustrated; we need support, advice and experience. There’s really no how-to guide on becoming an entrepreneur…most of time it’s by using logic and trial and error. As a successful business woman, I know that it’s not easy starting from the ground up.” Loren stated on lorensworld.com
Loren’s passion to help others is further evident by her involvement with many charitable causes including Rally for Kids with Cancer, which she co-Chairs with Eva Longoria; American Heart Association, which recognized her with the 2010 Big Heart Humanitarian award; Make-a-Wish Foundation; Jennifer Lopez Foundation; Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; and the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation among others.

At the Launch Pad, which opened at the beginning of the Fall 2008 semester, participants learn that entrepreneurship is a career choice, and one that can be started right away. The center offers guidance in learning business basics, developing ideas, networking with industry experts and strategizing to take a venture to the next level. The Launch Pad believes that entrepreneurship training is for everyone including but not limited to scientists, engineers, and artists.
