LINCOLN ROAD WELCOMES MURAL ARTIST KELSEY MONTAGUE February 3 – 5, 2017

unnamedLincoln Road, the social and civic spine of Miami Beach, is welcoming street artist Kelsey Montague to paint a mural on the wall of 670 Lincoln at Euclid Avenue as her first public work in Florida. Beginning on Friday, Feb. 3 from noon to 2pm and Saturday, Feb. 4 from 9am to 4pm, Montague’s work will be created live over two days with the finishing touches completed on Sunday, Feb. 5. A pen and ink artist focused on public and interactive art intersecting social media, passersby are encouraged to visit and take snapshots as Kelsey transforms the high-traffic corner into a mesmerizing and enchanting mural.

“As we continue showcasing world-class artists on Lincoln Road, we are delighted to collaborate with Kelsey Montague for all to enjoy,” shares Ivannia Van Arman, executive director of the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District. “Her passion for art, especially the unexpected medium that invites people into her pieces and to share their experience, is indicative of the energy of Lincoln Road itself.”

Part of the ongoing #OnLincoln campaign, which recently featured artist Alexa Meade transforming the vacant space of 918 Lincoln into Meade Museum for Art Basel, Montague’s debut Lincoln Road work will be an intricately designed illustration reflecting the destination’s artistic vibrancy.  In addition to her mural works, Kelsey Montague has recently authored an adult coloring book called “What Lifts You?,” filled with whimsical and ornate illustrations available at Books & Books on Lincoln Road. Kelsey will be signing copies at Books & Books and Lincoln Road’s website and social media channels will be updated with exact date and time in the next few days.

Since studying art in Florence and graduating from Richmond University with a degree in Art, Design & Media, Kelsey Montague has spent her time embracing and battling New York City while developing her pen and ink style.
