Les StandifordLES STANDIFORD is the author of ten novels and four books of popular history, including the critically acclaimed Last Train to Paradise (Crown, 2002) and, most recently, The Man Who Invented Christmas (Crown, 2008). The founding director of the creative writing program at Florida International University, he is a recipient of the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction. Most recently he is the editor of Miami Noir (Akashic, 2006), featuring new stories by James W. Hall, John Dufresne, Carolina Garcia-Aguilera and Barbara Parker. “As solid as the coral rock lying beneath the Miami streets.” – Publishers Weekly.
