Legendary Guitarist Eric Clapton Schedules 2013 Tour Stop for Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30 at Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

On the heels of announcing the two-day Crossroads Guitar Festival at New York’s Madison Square Garden, legendary guitarist Eric Clapton has scheduled a stop on his 2013 tour at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 4 at 10 a.m.

Clapton has assembled an impressive band for his 2013 U.S. dates consisting of long-time touring partners Doyle Bramhall II (guitar), Steve Jordan (drums), Chris Stainton (piano and keyboards), and Willie Weeks (bass), along with newcomers Paul Carrack (organ and keyboards) and Greg Leisz (pedal steel guitar). Michelle John and Sharon White will join the touring band again as backing vocalists.

Clapton’s appearance holds special meaning for Hard Rock fans and team members. In 1979, Clapton’s Red Fender Lead II guitar was the first piece of memorabilia in the famed and now priceless Hard Rock International collection.  Back in 1979, he was a regular of the Hard Rock Cafe in London. Clapton asked Hard Rock Cafe co-founder Isaac Tigrett to hang his guitar over his favorite bar stool to “mark his spot.” A week later, a package arrived with a guitar and a note that stated, “Mine’s as good as his! Love, Pete.” Pete was, in fact, the one and only Pete Townshend, guitarist extraordinaire for The Who. And so the collection began as a good ol’ fashioned one-upmanship battle between two of rock’s greatest guitar players. Today, the Hard Rock International memorabilia collection retains over 74,000 pieces and is growing every day.
