Legendary Coach Don Shula to Receive Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Kay® Jewelers will honor the National Football League’s winningest coach, Don Shula as he will receive his Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence on Sunday. The ceremony will take place at halftime of the Miami Dolphins home game against the Dallas Cowboys at Sun Life Stadium.

Hall of Fame quarterbacks Bob Griese and Dan Marino, both who played for Shula, will join him on the field for the tribute.

Legendary Coach Don Shula to Receive Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence

 

Shula posted a 347-173-6 record over 33 seasons as a head coach in the NFL with the Baltimore Colts (1963-69) and Dolphins (1970-1995). During 26 years in Miami, his teams posted only two seasons below .500 and advanced to the postseason 20 times including victories in Super Bowls VII and VIII. Shula’s Dolphins recorded a perfect 17-0 season in 1972. He was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1997.
