Langerado Announces Last Band Standing Contest with Partner PureVolume New Bands to the BMI Stage

The Langerado Music Festival launches its Last Band Standing competition today on PureVolume.com. Bands will have a chance to compete for the final slot at the festival alongside confirmed acts Death Cab for Cutie, Trey Anastasio Band, Ben Harper, Ween, and Thievery Corporation, as well as a prize package including $1,0000 in cash and $5,000 in promotional support from BuzzMedia sites.
In mid-July, the Festival called out to fans to find out which of their favorite local bands they want to see at Langerado. The overwhelming response inspired this battle of the bands/battle of the fans-style contest to fill the last slot on the bill.
Round one of the battle begins today. Bands have until August 22 to submit their band and create their profile at PureVolume.com/pages/langerado. Once entered, bands promote their PureVolume profile and rack up the page views and listens. Ten bands, plus five fan favorites from our call to fans will move on to round two where the fans can cast their votes for a chance to win a pair of tickets to Langerado 2011. Three bands will be chosen to move on to perform at the live
finale in Miami the week of October 3rd. The winning band will be chosen by a panel of industry judges, and given a spot on stage at the big show.
The feedback from Langerado’s call to fans also yielded the addition of two local acts to the lineup:  Rachel Goodrich and The Heavy Pets. Other additions include: Bobby Lee Rodgers, The Kingston Springs, Nic Cowan, Bear Cub, K-Flay and A Million Pieces.

Spread the love!
