Kitchen 57 Opens, Unveiling a Fresh and Welcoming Dining Haven in South Miami

The heart of South Miami’s dining scene is beating stronger than ever with the grand opening of Kitchen 57, a new family-owned restaurant poised to become a local favorite. This fresh culinary concept is making waves with its high-quality cuisine set against a backdrop of warmth and community spirit that has been long-awaited in the area.

Under the expert guidance of Owner and Executive Chef Michael Altman, a Culinary Institute of America graduate with over 30 years of culinary experience, Kitchen 57 presents a vibrant and diverse menu filled with thoughtfully crafted dishes and well-executed cocktails. Chef Michael’s community-first approach is designed to make Kitchen 57 the go-to destination for locals and visitors alike—a modern gathering spot catering to an eclectic mix of friends, families, and professionals of all ages.

The restaurant features a private dining room that can accommodate up to 40 seated guests, making it an ideal venue for celebrations and corporate events. Beginning in late January, Kitchen 57 will also introduce a specialty weekend brunch menu that promises to delight patrons.

Chef Michael’s passion for culinary excellence shines through in every dish, celebrating the bold flavors and diverse ingredients that South Miami craves. Standout offerings include:

Distinctive Starters:

  • Belgian-Style Mussels: Perfectly-steamed mussels in a white wine broth, served with hand-cut fries and herb aioli

  • Tuna Poke Cups: Fresh ahi tuna, toasted cashews and sesame poke sauce served in crisp iceberg lettuce cups

  • Zucchini Fries: Hand cut, with a roasted red pepper dipping sauce

Pizzas from the Hearth:

  • Truffle Mushroom Pizza: Wild mushrooms, roasted garlic, goat cheese and a hint of truffle essence, with a gluten-free cauliflower crust option available

  • Margherita: A classic pizza with blistered cherry tomatoes, burrata and fresh basil

Main Plates:

  • Cioppino: A seafood favorite, featuring fish, clams, mussels and shrimp in a citrus-scented lobster broth, served with garlic sourdough

  • Roasted Half Chicken: Roasted to perfection with fingerling potatoes, heirloom carrots and spinach in a savory au jus

  • Baby Back Ribs: Slow-cooked and served with hand-cut fries and house slaw

 

Also not to be missed are the  hearty Rigatoni Pomodoro and  the bold flavors of the Burrito Bowl.  Offering something for every discerning palate, Kitchen 57 invites guests to “Eat. Drink. Gather.” The experience is elevated with a full-service bar and an array of expertly crafted cocktails, including:

  • Cilantro Ramos: A refreshing blend of gin, Demerara syrup, egg white, soda, and lime, accented with a touch of herbal cilantro.

  • Hibiscus Margarita: A tropical delight featuring blanco tequila, mezcal, hibiscus extract, pineapple, lime juice, agave, and a rim of Tajín salt for a perfect kick.

  • Espresso Martini: A decadent mix of dark rum, coffee liqueur, rich espresso, Frangelico, and chocolate bitters—perfect for coffee lovers with a flair for sophistication.

Kitchen 57 is located at 7301 SW 57th Ct., Suite 100, South Miami, FL 33143 and is open Monday from 11am-9pm, Tuesday through Thursday from 11am-10pm, Friday from 11am-12am, Saturday from 11am-11pm and Sunday from 11am-10pm. “Gather” Hour is offered Monday-Friday 4pm-7pm, and Saturday 4pm-6pm. Kitchen 57 will be opening for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-3:30pm starting in late January.
