From storytelling to interior design, Kimpton’s EPIC Hotel in downtown Miami features an “art-filled” summer with a diverse line-up of special guests and topics on skillful endeavors and experiences as part of EPIC’s hosted daily wine hour. Held on the hotel’s 16th floor pool deck overlooking the Miami skyline and Biscayne Bay, the EPIC Hotel embraces Miami’s thriving arts and culture scene with the continuation of its popular “EPIC Wine Hour Presents: Art Of” series. 

The EPIC Hotel “Art Of” calendar for early summer includes the following: 

  • May 20 – “Art of Storytelling” with Jon Paul Buchmeyer, author of “Alphabet City: My So-Called Sitcom Life” – As part of his national book tour sponsored by Kimpton Hotels, Jon Paul Buchmeyer will share insights on crafting a good tale and strategically show how to effectively engage with an audience, while maintaining a sense of privacy.  
  • June 8“Art of Color” with artist Deborah Weed –Deborah Weed discusses how to select art that suits one’s individual style, taste and design, the importance of color in art, and the variety of different trends in today’s art world.
  • June 10“Art of Style” with Cravings South Florida Magazine – Editor Sara Fiedelholtz presents the art of creating your own personal style with a detailed Q&A.
  • June 17“Art of Wellness” with exhale, the mind body spa – Mind Body expert Julie Wiseman from exhale presents on the art of wellness, conducting a variety of interactive demonstrations. These include: a guided meditation, mini-massages and polish changes, all followed by a nutritionist giving mini consultations and body-fat analyses. Enjoy an eco-friendly cocktail, supplied by Area 31, aromatherapy patches and sample some aroma therapy oils, teas, etc.
  • July 1 – “Art of Weddings” – Complete with wedding cakes and wedding music, our wedding planner expert discusses the logistics of wedding planning today and unique trends during this exclusive complimentary “champagne hour”.
  • July 15 – “Art of Cigars” with cigar specialist Carlos Escalona of Miami-based Camacho Cigars, one of the leading makers of premium cigars. During this interactive session, Carlos will do a “cut and light” demonstration, cigar sampling and provide background and history on cigars as a form of art.
  • July 22“Art of Miami” – Inspired by their new exhibit New Work Miami 2010 set to open in July, the Miami Art Museum will present guests with insights into some of the recent and never-before-seen works by 35 artists living and working in the Miami area. The Museum’s planned exhibit will contain not only mixed paintings, but also sculpture, drawing, photography, video and performance art. 

 “Art Of” events in the categories of beauty, film, music, food, literature, dance, wine, cigars, travel, tattooing and other artful endeavors are also planned.
