Kimpton’s EPIC Hotel in Miami Hosts “Art of Color” With Local Artist Deborah Weed

On June 8th, Kimpton’s EPIC Hotel in downtown Miami, recently ranked as one of the world’s best hotels on the Expedia® Insider’s Select™ list, welcomed local artist Deborah Weed as part of the hotel’s continuation of its popular “EPIC Wine Hour Presents: Art Of” series.

Guests who attended the “Art of Color” event enjoyed wine, nibbles from Area 31 and a chance to meet Weed, a local up-and-coming artist, and preview pieces from her collection. Weed has gained a following and recognition by creating an original art form she calls “water sculpting,” that combines water, photography, acrylic and oil paints. The youngest in three generations of artists in her family, Weed is an award-winning artist whose work has been described as “dreamlike prints of flowers in mellow blues, purples, oranges and yellows.” Held on the hotel’s 16th floor in the lounge and bar area of acclaimed restaurant Area 31, Weed shared her story, discussed the importance of color in art, and gave insights into the significance of color choices in everyday life. Weed invited guests to take a color personality test, conducted informal color analyses among guests and explained what color preferences revealed about personality types.
