Set in 1858 in the Jewish quarter of Bologna, KIDNAPPED: THE ABDUCTION OF EDGARDO MORTARA chronicles the true story of a Jewish child secretly baptized by his nurse as a baby, the Papal law that dictated he must receive a Catholic education, and the scandal that ensued after the Church removed him from his loving family.
