Six years ago, three aspiring American filmmakers journeyed to Northern Uganda in the hopes of cutting their teeth on a documentary about elusive rebel leader Joseph Kony and his guerrilla Lord’s resistance Army (LRA) whose reign of terror spanned nearly two decades. When the trio witnessed first-hand, however, the misery and brutality endured by the tens of thousands of child soldiers conscripted by the LRA, their quest took a slightly different path. Today, several films, a global following, and appearances on Oprah and Larry King Live later – to name but a few recent accolades – Invisible Children and its founders are more dedicated than ever to bringing Africa’s longest-running war to an end and its smallest victims home.

Beginning next month, armed with its latest and most controversial film to date, The Rescue of Joseph Kony’s Child Soldiers, Invisible Children will embark on a world tour in the hopes of inciting a generation to action.

On September 21, in observance of the United Nation’s International Day of Peace, Miami Arts and Design District’s PressitOn USA will host the South Florida premier of The Rescue, a compelling, 35-minute movie that offers a harrowing look at the rebel leader and his vicious reign with chilling testimonies from child soldiers.

We cordially invite you to join the Miami Arts and Design District Community and the crew from Invisible Children for an unforgettable experience. Do your part for peace.
