JERUSALEM IS PROUD TO PRESENT (2007, Israel, in Hebrew, Arabic, Yiddish, and English, Nitzan Giladi, 82 min, color, DVD)—This documentary follows the effort to hold the 2006 World Pride celebration and march in Jerusalem. Advocates met with sharp opposition from Jewish, Muslim, and Christian religious leaders, faced accusations of “homo-sexualizing the Middle East,” received serious threats of violence, and ultimately were vastly outnumbered by their opposition.
