In Balance by Hettler.Tüllmann, Bridge Tender House at the Wolfsonian

In Balance will take the stage at the prestigious Wolfsonian. The installation, a suspended swing chair delicately set amid an array of bromeliads to form a mobile, is inspired by Art Deco motifs found in the museum’s collection and South Florida’s native plant life. Find it in the historic Bridge Tender House, a steel structure that once watched over the Miami River, saved from demolition and donated to the museum. The installation plays with the delicate equilibrium of natural ecosystems — a balance that can easily turn into an imbalance when humans enter the scene.
