Hundreds Attend the Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida’s Family Fest & Membership Rally at Camp Choee

The Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida hosted its annual Family Fest & Membership Rally at Camp Choee on Saturday, September 25. Hundreds attended the event for a fun-filled day to learn about the excitement, friendship and benefits of Girl Scouting, health and fitness, handarts, in sampling the arts or preparing for a career. Kids enjoyed face painting, arts & crafts, Chili cook-off, volleyball, swimming and Girl Scouts Forever Green projects. Girls in grades K-12 had the opportunity of joining as members for $12.

“The event was filled with fun activities for all ages. Girl Scouting is a great experience, not just for girls, but for those adults who volunteer to facilitate groups, camps, travel, events and series programs,” said Maria D. Tejera, Chief Executive Officer.

The event also featured a multitude of booths where educational organizations and companies were able to showcase their services and products, further helping to bridge the Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida with community partners.

Girl Scouts is open to all girls ages 5 – 17 and volunteer opportunities are available to adults 18+, pending background checks. Through a number of enriching experiences, such as extraordinary field trips, sports skill-building clinics, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships, girls grow courageous and strong.
