NASCAR announced the 2012 schedule for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, with a lineup featuring a number of adjustments from the 2011 edition. NASCAR’s schedule modification leaves Ford Championship Weekend unchanged. NASCAR Championship Weekend 2012 is set for Nov. 16-18.
“We are honored to once again to host NASCAR’s biggest weekend for the 10th straight year in 2011,” said Matthew Becherer, president of Homestead-Miami Speedway. “It is certainly a privilege to host the Championship finales for one of the most watched and followed sports in the United States. This is a testament to our facility, to our hometown fans, and those who travel to South Florida year-in and year-out to see the Champions crowned in North America’s most popular racing series.”
Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway – November 16-18, 2012 – will be kicked off by the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with the Ford 200 getting underway on Friday, Nov. 16.
“We believe the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule will once again provide fans with what they’ve come to expect every season – the world’s most exciting and competitive form of motorsports,” said Brian France, NASCAR chairman and CEO. “Next year’s schedule has a few adjustments that we think will be good for the fans and good for the overall flow of the season. One thing will remain constant, however, and that’s the intense competition we see week in and week out from our drivers and race teams.”
Race fans will get to experience three days of on-track action and entertainment next November when the Ford 400 returns as the Championship finale in NASCAR’s “playoffs” – the Chase For The Sprint Cup.
“We’re excited about this fall’s NASCAR series-crowning Championships, set for Nov. 18-20, and look forward to the honor of again hosting Ford Championship Weekend for the 11th consecutive year in 2012,” Becherer said.
It’s a NASCAR series-crowning South Florida Finish Line at Homestead-Miami Speedway Nov. 18-20. Homestead-Miami Speedway will host NASCAR during Ford Championship Weekend for the 10th consecutive year. Year after year Homestead-Miami Speedway delivers robust economic impact felt by businesses, restaurants and retailers throughout the region by offering Sprint Cup Series Championship tickets that start at just $55 dollars.
