Tropical Adventures Summer Camp

HistoryMiami’s Summer Camp is a unique program designed to engage campers in thematic programs and activities that allow them to learn while having fun. For 10 weeks, campers are exposed to indoor and outdoor hands-on activities, including gallery games, music, arts and crafts, drama, field trips to historic sites and many more exciting summertime experiences.

 

Members: $165/week Non-Members: $190/week

Free before and after care (8:30-9 am and 5-5:30 pm)

Family Fun Day: Trouble In the Tropics: Hurricanes

Saturday, August 13 from noon – 5pm

Will you be ready for the big one when it threatens our region? HistoryMiami invites you to learn how to prepare and create your own hurricane in a bottle. See a fascinating presentation by eco-Historian Frank Schena about Miami’s infamous hurricanes.

Screening & Discussion: “Planes on Film”

Sunday, August 21 at 2 pm

Join HistoryMiami or a screening of news footage, films, and home movies reflecting Miami’s aviation history. Hosted by Miami Dade College’s Lynn and Louis Wolfson II Florida Moving Image Archives, this program will feature a discussion by aviation experts, including historian Dr. Paul George.
