HANDY TO HOST SCHOOLAPALOOZA ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7

HANDY (Helping Abused Neglected Disadvantaged Youth) will host Schoolapalooza, its annual back-to-school event which benefits HANDY Youth,  on September 7.

  • The excitement of receiving a brand-new laptop, entering state-of-the-art educational programs, and finding the perfect first-day outfit is just the beginning for HANDY students. Join us for Schoolapalooza, our annual back-to-school extravaganza in celebration of HANDY’s Youth.
  • This year’s party ‘themed’ Rock Of All Ages, hosted by Chris Cruz, will include musical entertainment, cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres provided by local eateries, and guests will have an opportunity to empower HANDY Youth at a crucial moment in their lives.
  • Schoolapalooza will feature live and silent auctions to raise funds for back-to-school necessities with the objective of creating brighter futures for HANDY Youth.
  • HANDY was founded in 1985 by Ed Pudaloff, who wished to create something special to help abused and neglected children in the Broward County community. He reached out to two of his closest friends, Marti Huizenga and Kathy Jackson, for help. The three of them started fundraising committees, created scholarship funds, bought clothes for children, and celebrated their birthdays. In the beginning, they had two well-known events, Easter for Kids and the Fashion Show, which went on for years before incorporating other events such as the Scholars Breakfast and Schoolapalooza.
