Guy Harvey Launches New Book Celebrating His Fishing Family
World-renowned artist, scientist, conservationist, and entrepreneur, Guy Harvey, Ph.D., has launched his latest book titled “10,000 Chicken Sandwiches – The Story of My Fishing Family, Jamaica 1956-1986.” To celebrate the launch, Guy will be available for meet-and-greets, photo ops and signings at his gallery and shop in Las Olas Blvd.
The book is a memoir that follows the early life of Guy Harvey’s family, who ran a small fishing lodge in Jamaica during the mid-20th century. It serves as a tribute to the fishing community, their traditions and heritage, as well as a reflection on the challenges facing the industry today.
In addition to the book launch, the Guy Harvey Gallery & Shop will display new original pieces of art featured in the book, and guests will receive a free gift with every book purchase.
A portion of proceeds from sales of all Guy Harvey apparel and merchandise at the store and online benefit ocean research, education, and conservation initiatives through the Guy Harvey Foundation (GHF). The non-profit organization is dedicated to saving the seas, supporting groundbreaking research, and fostering the next generation of ocean conservationists.
