Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida’s Maria D. Tejera Honored by The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida announced today that Maria D. Tejera, CEO, was recently honored with the Women of Leadership Award by The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) for her outstanding work in the community and commitment to serving as a role model for women. 

Tejera was given an award during a special ceremony to celebrate Women History Month held in March by the SFLHCC to recognize women in the community who demonstrate excellence in their business and profession. 

Tejera has been serving the Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida for the last 26 years. She is responsible for all aspects of the Council’s operations, overseeing volunteers and staff to fulfill the strategic vision and goals of the Council. She is also a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Commonwealth Institute of South Florida, United Way of Miami-Dade County and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
