Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida to Host its Annual “Fiesta De Quinceañera”

Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida will host its annual “Fiesta de Quinceñera” for ten young ladies from the Homestead and Florida City area, which come from migrant families. The Quinceñera’s will enjoy the traditional coming of age ceremony and a reception will be held on August 7 at the Homestead Community Center located at 1601 N Krome Ave, Homestead, FL 33030 from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.

“Fiesta De Quinceañera” is a Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida program in partnership with Ford Motor Company Foundation, Mexican American Council and Miami-Dade County Public School Migrant Education Program. The reception will also represent the girls’ graduation from the Uniquely ME! Self-esteem Program, a multi-faceted self-esteem building program, with activities ranging from character building, community service, goal setting, etiquette, hygiene, health and nutrition and Quinceañera traditions.

Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida is seeking in-kind donations of flowers. Decorations, music, photography, choreography and cake have been donated by volunteers. Other sponsors include BJ’s Wholesale Club and Pink Champagne and Roses.  Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
