Tequila titans George Clooney and Rande Gerber came together at Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar inside Las Vegas’ Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa yesterday with nearly 100 members of the Casamigos Tequila team – the first gathering of its kind in over three years. Though the longtime friends and tequila aficionados famously sold Casamigos for $1 billion to Diageo in 2017, they’re still passionately involved as the handsome faces behind the brand they founded together in 2013.
Dressed casually in jeans and button-up shirts, Clooney and Gerber got behind the bar and poured shots of Casamigos tequila, toasting what will soon be Casamigos’ 10-year anniversary. Hearthstone’s ace bartenders use Casamigos in two of the restaurant’s most in-demand cocktails – El Mojito, made with Casamigos Reposado tequila, agave, and fresh lime juice, strawberries and mint; and the Casarita, made with Casamigos Blanco tequila and fresh lime juice, and served in a glass with a tajin rim.
Hearthstone, one of the most popular neighborhood restaurants in Las Vegas, presented a lavish feast prepared by Executive Chef Donald Thompson, including New England lobster rolls with brown butter aioli and served on a brioche bun; prime rib French dip sandwiches, made with sliced prime rib and topped with caramelized onions; and lollipop chicken wings.
