FREE DWNTWN Concert Featuring The Wailers

It’s that time again for the DWNTWN Miami Concert Series! The series features a free concert every second Friday of the month (except March and September) open to the public. During the summer months, concerts take place at the Olympia Theatre at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts, providing downtowners a way to beat the heat while still having fun. Downtown residents and workers come mingle and enjoy great music in the heart of downtown Miami.

 

Join the Miami Downtown Development Authority Friday, August 10th for a FREE Concert at the Olympia Theater at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts with performances by Jahfeì and The Wailers! As always, food and drinks are available. The doors open at 7:00pm.

 

 With such classic hits like One Love, Get Up Stand Up, Buffalo Soldier, Redemption Song and Three Little Birds, The Wailers are the number one selling reggae band of all time, having sold in excess of 250 million albums and played for over 25 million people worldwide.  In the 1970s, the Wailers were pioneers of their genre and were the first reggae band to tour new territories like the Far East and Africa.

                       

Jahfeì will open the show their musical style fuses roots reggae with other genres including rock, dub, soul and R & B, creating a unique blend of organic sounds. The members of Jahfeì hail from nations all around the world including Haiti, Spain, Israel, Cuba, Czech Republic and the United States.
