Quiñones’ New Movie Plantman & Blondie: A Dress Up Gang Film from FOX’s Tideline Banner to Premiere at SXSW on March 14, Alongside Cast Comedy Showcase
FOX Entertainment Studios (FES) has entered into a development commitment with comedian, writer, and actor Frankie Quiñones for a new untitled comedy project. Under the agreement, Quiñones will co-write and star in a scripted comedy developed with FES, further expanding the studio’s investment in bold, creator-driven voices across platforms.
Quiñones is a Los Angeles-based stand-up comedian and actor known for his viral character, “Creeper” and for starring in the Hulu comedy series This Fool. His one-hour special, Damn That’s Crazy, was released on Hulu earlier this year. The special was directed by Ali Wong and recognized by the Los Angeles Times as one of the year’s best standup specials.
Frankie filmed the NBC pilot, Untitled NBC Native American Community Center Comedy, last year and currently recurs on St. Denis Medical for the network. He also had a recurring role on FX’s What We Do in the Shadows. Next up, Frankie will appear in Tom Segura’s indie feature, El Tigre, alongside Luke Wilson and Segura, as well as the Netflix feature, The Fifth Wheel, with Kim Kardashian, Nikki Glaser, and Kristen Wiig.
He is also a member of comedy troupe The Dress Up Gang. Their first feature film, Plantman & Blondie: A Dress Up Gang Film, is an offbeat comedy that follows Cory, a lonely tech worker drawn into a quirky Los Angeles underground world of plant-loving vigilantes. It is produced by FOX’s Tideline Entertainment and Mountain Top Pictures and is set to premiere at the 2026 SXSW Film & TV Festival as part of the Narrative Feature Competition, where Quiñones will also appear as part of the “FES Comedy Showcase Featuring The Dress Up Gang and Friends,” hosted by Emmy and Grammy-nominated comedian Bill Burr.
“Frankie is the kind of multi-hyphenate talent we’re always looking to build with — a creator who brings an unmistakable point of view, distinct originality, and characters that resonate far beyond the laughs and comedic precision,” said Hannah Pillemer, Head of Scripted, FOX Entertainment Studios. “He has a rare ability to ground bold, irreverent comedy in heart and authenticity, and audiences connect to that in a powerful way. We’re excited to partner with Frankie to develop a series that fully showcases his voice and expands his creative footprint in a meaningful way.”
“I’m thrilled to be partnering with FOX Entertainment Studios on this next chapter,” said Frankie Quiñones. “Comedy has always been about bringing people together and telling stories that feel real to me, and the communities I come from.”
Quiñones is represented by United Talent Agency, OPE Partners, and Hansen, Jacobsen, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller, Gellman, Meigs & Fox.
